One word for this book - Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

Just finished reading this book and I have only one word to describe it 'supercalifragilisticexpialidocious' which means "extraordinary good" as described by the author in the book.

This is really a heart touching story. I bought this book after reading the cover text. I was not expecting any love story in this book and if I had known it before that it's a story about love, I would not have bought this book but now I'm glad I bought it. This is the most pious and beautiful love story I have ever read. This is what I call true love.

And the author, thank you for giving us this book. When I read that you are from an IIT in your description, I thought that one more chetan bhagat had come up but thank god it's not like that. I really salute you for writing this story and raising some of the most important issues of our society. Hats off, Aakash!

देश विदेश में उपन्यास  सम्राट प्रेमचंद की लोकप्रियता दिनोंदिन बढ़ रही है तथा आलोचकों के अनुसार उनके साहित्य का सबसे बड़ा आकर्षण यह है कि वह अपने साहित्य में ग्रामीण जीवन की तमाम दारुण परिस्थितियों को चित्रित करने के बावजूद मानवीयता की अलख को जगाए रखते हैं।

साहित्य समीक्षकों के अनुसार प्रेमचन्द के उपन्यासों और कहानियों में कृषि प्रधान समाज, जाति प्रथा, महाजनी व्यवस्था, रूढ़िवाद की जो गहरी समझ देखने को मिलती है, उसका कारण ऐसी बहुत सी परिस्थितियों से प्रेमचंद का स्वयं गुजरना था। प्रेमचंद के जीवन का एक बड़ा हिस्सा घोर निर्धनता में गुजरा था।

कहानीकार एवं अलीगढ़ के धर्म समाज कालेज के हिन्दी विभागाध्यक्ष डॉ. वेद प्रकाश अमिताभ के अनुसार प्रेमचंद की कलम में कितनी ताकत है, इसका पता इसी बात से चलता है कि उन्होंने होरी को हीरो बना दिया। होरी ग्रामीण परिवेश का एक हारा हुआ चरित्र है लेकिन प्रेमचंद की नजरों ने उसके भीतर विलक्षण मानवीय गुणों को खोज लिया।




अमिताभ के अनुसार प्रेमचंद का मानवीय दृष्टिकोण अद्भुत था। वह समाज से विभिन्न चरित्र उठाते थे। मनुष्य ही नहीं पशु तक उनके पात्र होते थे। उन्होंने हीरा मोती में दो बैलों की जोड़ी, आत्माराम में तोते को पात्र बनाया। गोदान की कथाभूमि में गाय तो है ही।

अमिताभ ने कहा कि प्रेमचंद ने अपने साहित्य में खोखले यथार्थवाद को प्रश्रय नहीं दिया। प्रेमचंद के खुद के शब्दों में वह आदशरेन्मुखी यथार्थवाद के प्रबल समर्थक हैं। उनके साहित्य में मानवीय समाज की तमाम समस्याएँ हैं तो उनके समाधान भी हैं। वरिष्ठ लेखक एवं कवि धनंजय सिंह के अनुसार प्रेमचंद का लेखन ग्रामीण जीवन के प्रामाणिक दस्तावेज के रूप में इसलिए सामने आता है क्योंकि इन परिस्थितियों से वह स्वयं गुजरे थे। अन्याय, अत्याचार, दमन, शोषण आदि का प्रबल विरोध करते हुए भी वह समन्वय के पक्षपाती थे।
